can wpa2-psk network authentication with AES encription gradual internet speed ?

i configured a router with wpa2-psk with aes. Will it have an effect on the rate or latency or lead to more heating problems to router or to the wireless receiver… ?

    Unless you are doing alot of very high demand applications through it, or if you have a low quality router, it should not cause any problems at all. The slow down would be from either bandwidth available or from the transfer rate of the router itself as well as the transfer rate of the receiver that you have. Encrypting should not cause any significant slow down in the speed though.

    Encrypted networks always have a little more overhead due to the security protocol data that also is transferred.
    And of course the en- / decryption process, however that is a minimal loss, any modern computer can calculate that blazingly fast.

    Expect a data throughput (kb/s) decrease of about 1% to 4%. This change however is so minimal it falls within normal fluctuation.
    Latency will not (or very close to not) be affected.

    It will *not* cause any more heating problems than with normal non-encrypted operation
