I am about to buy a printer that is wifi capable but how do I find out if my computer that runs vista is wifi capatible? Or is vista plug & play when it comes to things like this?

Does it have a wireless card? Check for that first. Vista is pretty much plug and play, you only need to install a driver.
I would bet your PC is WiFi compatible, but you should better check if it has already a WiFi network card.
If not you can easily buy a USB WiFi card that will be plug-and-play in Vista, just check if the Vista logo appears on the box to avoid older cards.
Also consider that WiFi range is not very ample so the printer should not be too far avay from PC.
It has an antenna on the back. Or if you have a laptop you don’t have a wire to connect to the internet.
